My name is Amy Castongia. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and Board Certified Telemental Health Provider (BC-TMC) specializing in the treatment of eating disorders, emotional eating, body image issues, anxiety, and depression. Additionally, I treat clients struggling with OCD, stress management, low self esteem, anger management, life transitions, grief and loss, and relationship issues. In counseling, I help my clients identify strengths within themselves and develop self-awareness. My primary therapeutic approach is Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). With compassion and understanding, I work with each client to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing. I received my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lenoir Rhyne University and my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Appalachian State University. Growing up I always had a passion for helping others. Since I started my counseling career I have worked with adolescents and adults suffering from eating disorders, emotional eating, and clients struggling with poor body image. My main goal is to help you understand why you think, feel, and behave as you do. I will work with you to help you regain control of your life and live again.
I am married to my husband, Steven, and we have two dogs. We reside in Huntersville. My interests include reading, taking walks, and watching movies.
